Unlike large international organizations that operate from afar, Kathia's Kids is embedded in the community. Our Haitian committee lives in the neighborhoods we serve, allowing us to identify families in immediate crisis—whether it’s a medical emergency or a sudden loss of shelter—and provide support within hours, not weeks.

• Step 1: Crisis Intervention: We identify a young mother in extreme poverty and provide immediate relief, such as emergency medical care for her and her children or food and medical supplies.

• Step 2: Stabilization: We ensure this family has a safe, stable environment to live in, providing support for relocation if necessary.  Towards a more secure and accessible location nearer to schools and economic independence.

• Step 3: Empowerment: Through vocational training and educational support, we provide the tools for mothers to develop a reliable income and achieve long-term independence, while her children integrate themselves towards a better life and opportunities.

The "Bridge" out of Extreme Poverty to a Life of Hope and Opportunity.  Your contribution creates a direct bridge to stability. For instance, a gift of $50 provides a week of childcare, enabling a mother to attend vocational classes. A gift of between $75 and $150 covers an emergency medical consultation and medication for a child. Every dollar is tracked, spent on the ground, and reported back to you through our social media updates.

We are a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) organization. Because we operate at the grassroots level, 95% of every dollar donated goes directly to our programs in Haiti. By working hand-in-hand with the families we serve, we ensure your contribution is utilized with maximum efficiency to foster a safer, more promising future.
